GeoSutra Field · Android
Evidence from the field, even offline.
GeoSutra Field records observations, photos, audio and GPS against project protocols, works without signal, and exports evidence with SHA-256 checksums. Use the same account as the Himalayan Observatory, or practise without one.

How Field and the Observatory work together
- Plan in the Observatory. An approved team member creates a project and a survey, then publishes and assigns it. Access is by approval; request an account at the Observatory.
- Collect in Field. Sign in with the same GeoSutra account, download your assignments, and record observations, GPS and photos with no signal.
- Sync and review. When the phone is online it uploads the records and photos to private GeoSutra storage. Project owners then read the evidence back in the Observatory; review by an authorised reviewer is a separate step.
Early Access: 1.0.0 is distributed directly by GeoSutra and is not on Google Play yet. GeoSutra AI is not part of this release.

Updating from 0.2.x or 0.3.0? Install 1.0.0 over it; your data is kept. Updating from 0.1.0? Versions 0.2.x and later are signed with a new key: export your evidence first, uninstall 0.1.0, then install 1.0.0. Export your evidence before any update. Google Play and the App Store are coming later. How the app handles location, photos and recordings: privacy policy, Field app section (draft).
